Job Description

 

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Accounting Supervisor to support the transformation and operational excellence of our Finance function. This role is integral to the success of our ongoing SAP S/4HANA Finance (FiCO) implementation and the broader efficiency and data quality improvements within the accounting department. The role also indirectly expands into the Controlling area through data flows provided.
Reporting both operationally to the Accounting Team Leader for the operations part and strategically to the Accounting Director for the transformation projects (including externalization), the Accounting Supervisor will play a dual role—operational and transformational. You will contribute to the monthly and yearly closing activities, supervise outsourced resources according to the firm’s strategy, and own key processes such as credit card reconciliations and data quality controls. At the same time, you will be a key actor in implementing process improvements, driving adoption of system changes, and ensuring long-term alignment of accounting practices with business goals.

What you will be working on

 

Operational Responsibilities


•    Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
•    Supervise and review credit card reconciliations, travel and expense processes, and leasing and DKV invoices and related internal controls, reports and declaration.
•    Actively manage relationships with outsourced accounting support providers, whether being team extension based or other models, and implement together with the accounting director the strategic roadmap 
•    Maintain an accurate and timely cash booking.
•    Maintain and improve data quality across accounting systems providing controlling with quality and timely data.
Transformation & SAP Implementation
•    Act as a key accounting stakeholder in the SAP S/4HANA FiCo (and future SAP modules) implementation project(s).
•    Ensure that operational needs are translated into effective system design and configuration (when necessary) and ease the process definition and adoption to SAP standards.
•    Drive adoption of new tools and processes across the accounting team, including Artificial Intelligence adoption.
•    Implement and monitor recommendations/actions resulting from internal and external improvement reviews as well as audits.
•    Contribute to the documentation of accounting procedures and internal controls in the new system environment.
•    Ensure accuracy and completeness of General Ledger entries, reconciliations, circularization, and supporting documentation.

 

Collaboration & Leadership


•    Work closely with the Accounting Director, the Financial Planning and Analysis Director, the finance managers and supervisors, CFO, and the SAP project team, Operations and other teams .
•    Coordinate with Finance Business Partners, Controlling, and Procurement on cross-functional issues.
•    Provide support, guidance, and training to junior team members and outsourced resources.

What we look for

•    University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional qualification is a plus.
•    Minimum 8–10 years of experience in accounting, preferably in an international and/or professional services environment with 3 to 5 years in management responsibilities
•    Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, closing processes, and internal controls.
•    Experience working with or implementing ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA experience is a strong asset).
•    Direct or indirect experience with externalization of resources
•    Hands-on, process-oriented, with strong attention to detail and data integrity.
•    Comfortable working in both a structured project environment and a dynamic operational setting.
•    Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
