We’re looking for a Business Development Specialist – Banking & Insurance Sectors to join our Business Development Team!
This is a strategic and hands-on role where you’ll help drive the firm’s growth and market positioning across priority sectors. You’ll work directly with partners, sector leaders, and cross-functional teams to execute tailored strategies, identify new market opportunities, and strengthen key client relationships.
You’ll report to the Head of Business Development and collaborate closely with Sector Leaders to bring fresh thinking and a sharp commercial lens to everything you do.

What you will be working on

Sector Strategy & Business Development
• Co-develop and execute annual sector-specific business development plans with Sector Leaders.
• Monitor progress, adjust strategies as needed, and report key updates to the Head of Business Development
• Proactively identify growth opportunities, evolving client needs, and industry trends to fuel sector expansion.
• Support the development of go-to-market strategies, sector value propositions, and service offerings.
Client & Relationship Management
• Collaborate with sector leaders and the Pursuits team to shape client engagement strategies.
• Drive account-based marketing, manage focus accounts, and ensure CRM data is accurate and actionable.
• Monitor client relationship progress and act as Account Manager for select key clients.
Market Intelligence & Sector Positioning
• Leverage industry research and insights (in collaboration with our Market Intelligence team) to support business development activities.
• Attend key sector events, conferences, and thought leadership sessions to position KPMG as a market leader.
• Monitor competitor activity and regulatory shifts to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Contribute to sector insights, benchmarking materials, and strategic content creation.
Sales Enablement
• Work closely with service line teams to align KPMG capabilities with sector needs.
• Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to develop compelling client-facing materials and organize sector-specific events.
Internal Collaboration & Sector Culture
• Act as a sector ambassador, promoting collaboration between industry teams and service lines.
• Organize and lead sector-focused meetings, business development workshops, and sharing sessions.
• Work with other Business Development Specialists to ensure a consistent approach across all sectors of the firm.

What we look for

✔ You have at least 5 years of experience in business development, client relationship management, or strategy roles—ideally in a professional services, consulting, or industry-specific environment.
✔ You’re comfortable working cross-functionally and interacting with senior stakeholders.
✔ You’re proactive, analytical, and commercially minded, with the ability to identify opportunities and follow through with action.
✔ You have excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
✔ You’re fluent in English; French or German is considered an asset.
✔ Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and familiarity with account-based marketing is a plus.
