At KPMG Luxembourg, data is at the heart of everything we do.
We are looking for a passionate Data Engineers Lead to build, guide and inspire a high-performing data engineering team.
You will lead a talented group of Data Engineers to design, optimize, and deliver innovative data solutions — ensuring the scalability, quality, and performance of our data ecosystem. You’ll also collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders to translate strategic goals into actionable data initiatives.

What you will be working on
People & Team Management
- Align team roles and objectives with business and technical priorities
- Coach and mentor your team to develop both technical and leadership skills
- Onboard new data engineers and foster a strong team spirit
- Communicate effectively with data stakeholders (Data Stewards, Tech Leads, Project Managers, etc.)
Project Management
- Drive project delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and scopes are respected
- Serve as the main point of contact between the Digital Business Service and Digital Data Services teams
- Oversee database optimization efforts to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability
ETL / ELT Processes
- Ensure ETL/ELT processes are efficient, well-structured, and optimized for performance
- Guarantee best practices are implemented across all data integration pipelines
Data Community Leadership
- Build and animate an active Data Community to share documentation, training materials, and technology updates
- Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing across teams
- Organize internal workshops or represent KPMG at external data events
Mentoring & Optimization
- Enforce best practices for data integration and engineering
- Maintain code quality through structured reviews and peer learning
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of data sources and transformation logic
- Stay on top of emerging technologies, frameworks, and methodologies in data development
What we look for
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering and business intelligence roles
- Proven management experience leading technical teams and communities
- Proficiency in Python (PySpark) and SQL (T-SQL, Spark SQL); Java or Scala are a plus
- Strong knowledge of Lakehouse and Data Warehouse architectures
- Hands-on expertise with Azure SQL Server, Azure Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric
(DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer Associate Certification is a strong plus)
