Job Description

As a KYC Officer, you will play a critical role in:

•Collecting KYC documents for all relevant counterparties
•Evaluating information and documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
•Contributing to a high-quality centralized KYC preparation process
•Supporting business in terms of Client Acceptance and Continuance procedures following the Firm’s policies and relevant Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) rules
•Developing an enhanced risk mindset and understanding the KYC and AML principles and requirements

What you will be working on

1.Know Your Customer (KYC) checks 

You will be responsible for conducting thorough and detailed client researches, gathering KYC information and documentation. Furthermore, you will be a key point of contact for the client and collaborate with the internal Engagement Team. You will create or update client information in our KYC repository “DocuWare”.

2.Carry out  thorough and detailed Customer Due Diligence (CDD) obligations, i.e. understanding client’s identity and business activities  

  1. Identifying the client and verifying its identity  
  2. Identifying beneficial owners and Senior Management Officials 
  3. Identify Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) 
  4. Gathering information on the intended purpose and nature of the business relationship 
3.Master the use of Global Client and Engagement Acceptance Continuance (CEAC) evaluation process, to assess the initial client risk and prepare the Client Acceptance / Continuance evaluations
 
4.Communicate with internal and external clients to collect KYC documentation

Technical skills & Qualifications

•Knowledge of applicable International and Luxembourg directives, laws, and regulations on fight against money laundering and terrorist financing as well as KPMG Global and Local Policies
•Sound understanding of applicable guidance: e.g. CEAC Manual and KYC checklist, STAR guidance, DocuWare guidance, Background checks guidance, escalation procedure
•Mastering MS office apps: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams
•Master the use of CEAC (understanding of all sections) and the associated Risk Matrix to prepare the CEAC form to be submitted to the Engagement Partner

Experience & Knowledge

  • You must have a good understanding of KYC, CDD and compliance related responsibilities and tasks.
  • You should be committed to high quality, strive for continuous improvement and learning.
  • You must be able to demonstrate that you obtained all relevant skills from onboarding trainings and work increasingly independently.
  • Prior experience in a similar work environment e.g. knowledge of anti-money laundering rules, know-your-customer process and regulatory framework in Luxembourg is a plus.
  • Background in the legal or financial sector will be considered as an asset.
  • This position requires an individual to be self-motivated to operate effectively and independently with minimal supervision, though they should seek for advice and support from Team Managers whenever needed.
  • A strong appreciation of the sensitivity of information, respect for confidentiality and a team-oriented attitude is essential.
