Job Description
We are seeking a Manager / Senior Manager to join our Regulatory & Strategy team
Take a leading role at the intersection of regulation, strategy and transformation, helping financial institutions turn complex regulatory change into practical business decisions. You will lead engagements spanning licensing and authorisation, market entry, target operating models and governance, regulatory impact and gap assessments, and broader regulatory-driven transformation for leading financial institutions in Luxembourg and across Europe.
What you will be working on
1. Strategic Client Advisory and Project Leadership
- Lead High-Impact Regulatory & Strategy Engagements – Lead complex regulatory and strategy engagements for financial institutions, including licensing and authorisation, market-entry initiatives, target operating model and governance design, regulatory gap assessments and remediation programmes, and regulatory-driven transformation.
- Translate Regulation into Strategy and Change – Assess the impact of evolving EU and Luxembourg regulatory requirements for the Banking and insurance sector, including MiFID II/MiFIR, CRR/CRD, PSD2/PSD3/PSR, DORA, MiCA, EMIR, MAR and the broader EU and Luxembourg financial services framework, on business models, governance, processes and operating models, and develop pragmatic recommendations.
- Cultivate Strategic Client Partnerships – Serve as a primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders in the Banking and Insurance Sector, aligning consulting solutions with clients’ strategic and regulatory objectives and supporting effective engagement with supervisory authorities where relevant.
2. Team Leadership, Development, and Expertise Sharing
- Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration – Lead interdisciplinary teams within KPMG and coordinate subject matter experts across regulatory, risk, governance, AML/KYC and technology topics to address complex client challenges.
- Mentor and Develop Talent – Actively coach and mentor team members, facilitating professional growth, promoting knowledge sharing, and fostering a high-performance culture within the consulting team.
3. Market Intelligence and Business Development
- Shape Regulatory Insights and Best Practices – Lead research and analysis of evolving EU and Luxembourg regulatory developments and supervisory priorities, translating them into strategic insights, points of view and client opportunities.
- Lead Business Development Initiatives – Spearhead client acquisition efforts, including proposal development, high-level networking, and thought leadership, to drive business growth and establish new client relationships.
What we look for
- Experience: 5–8 years of experience in consulting and/or the financial sector, with exposure to regulatory advisory, strategy, transformation or related projects.
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of financial services regulation and experience in areas such as licensing and authorisation, regulatory gap or impact assessments, target operating model and governance design, or regulatory change.
- Leadership and Strategic Insight: Proven track record of managing complex projects in a consulting environment or financial institution, with demonstrated leadership abilities and confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
- Skills: Strong analytical, presentation, and client management skills, with an ambition to drive results and an unwavering commitment to client success.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required; French and/or German are an advantage.
- Educational Background: A master’s degree in finance, economics, management, IT, engineering, or a related field.
