Job Description

As a Platform Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of KPMG Luxembourg's Internal Developer Platform. You will work with modern cloud and DevOps technologies to build scalable, secure, and automated platform capabilities, while enhancing the developer experience and supporting the organization's digital transformation initiatives.

What you will be working on

  • You will develop and maintain key components of the Internal Developer Platform (IDP), ensuring scalability, compliance, reliability, and performance. You will define reusable platform capabilities, standards, and self-service patterns that enable project teams to deliver faster and more consistently.
  • You are responsible for defining release baselines and designing the DevOps approach for DEV and TEST environments, including CI/CD pipelines, reusable pipeline templates, deployment workflows, and quality gates. Once the approach is validated, you will support the transition of the delivery model to the DevSecOps team for staging and production rollout, ensuring consistency, automation, and clear operational handover.
  • You will ensure that baseline security and compliance requirements are embedded into reusable Infrastructure as Code modules, platform templates, and Azure DevOps workflows. This includes implementing shift-left security controls, automated checks, approval gates, and evidence collection mechanisms to ensure security and compliance are built into the delivery lifecycle from the start.
  • You will be responsible for cloud cost estimations, optimization decisions, SKU recommendations, and defining the standards that project teams must respect when using cloud services. You will help ensure that platform designs are cost-aware, aligned with approved standards, and supported by automated cost insights, alerts, and recommendations.
  • You will contribute to the reliability and continuous improvement of the IDP by building resilient platform capabilities, improving observability, automating recurring operational tasks, and enabling project teams through self-service tooling. While day-to-day incident and ticket handling is primarily managed by the DevSecOps team, you will collaborate with them on complex platform issues, root cause analysis, and engineering improvements that reduce operational workload and improve platform stability.
  • You will stay up to date with technology trends, platform engineering best practices, and advancements in workflow automation and AI integration. You are expected to propose innovative solutions that improve the team’s efficiency, delivery maturity, cost efficiency, and operational governance.

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with several of the following technologies: Azure, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, Docker, SonarQube, Ansible, Terraform / ARM templates, ELK Stack, Power Platform, Azure Data Engineering tools, and security tooling such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Qualys, or equivalent solutions. Exposure to workflow automation or AI-assisted engineering tools is considered an advantage.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or JavaScript for automation and platform workflows.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows environments.
  • Relevant certifications in Cloud, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Security, or related technologies are considered an advantage.
